Restoring the Elements (Water): Ginso Tree Restored – Ori’s Big Escape!

Welcome to part 9 of the Geek Game Guides Ori and The Blind Forest Walkthrough. In this part of the walkthrough we solve the last remaining puzzles inside the Ginso, collect some Spirit Light pickups and escape the Ginso Tree, thus completing the objective “Enter and restore the Ginso Tree”.

Note: You can find all parts of this Walkthrough (including a video walkthrough), on the Geek Game Guides Ori and The Blind Forest Walkthrough main page. (click here)

Cleansing The Corruption

From the heart of the Ginso Tree make your way to the eastern side of the Ginso Tree. Your goal here is to break through the cracked log to the north east that is blocking access to the eastern portion of the Ginso Tree’s heart.Ginso Tree, Right Side Cleansed To do this you are going to have to make use of the fireballs being shot by the plant over to the eastern side of your screen. Using Bash redirect one of the fireballs through all of the teleportation logs in the area. You will have to make your way up quickly and stay ahead of the redirected fireball. Kill the monsters in your way quickly so you can keep redirecting the fireball until it goes through the last teleportation log.

Tip: Use Charge Flame is order to kill off the monsters in the area quickly.

Once the log blocking access to the eastern portion of the Ginso Tree’s heart is broken, go inside and use your Spirit Flame attack on the red glowing thorn to destroy the corruption on the eastern portion of the Ginso Tree’s Heart.

When you are finished head over to the western side of the Ginso Tree. As with the eastern side your goal here is to break through another cracked log blocking your access, this time to the western side of the Ginso Tree’s heart. Ginso Tree, Left Side CleansedBreaking the log on this side is much less complicated, all your have to do is make your way north west until you reach the second purple spider hanging from its web (There are two of them in this area, go to the one that is all the way to the north west. Using Bash redirect one of the projectiles it shoots at you over to the cracked log blocking access to the western portion of the Ginso Tree’s heart.

Tip: There is also a Spirit Light pickup in this area at the bottom. Its hovering over some spikes to the east, use Double Jump to get it.

Once you have broken the log blocking your access head inside and use your Spirit Flame attack on the red glowing thorn to destroy the corruption around the western portion of the Ginso Tree’s heart.

Ginso Tree Restored, Now you Must Escape!

Now jump down and head back to the heart of the Ginso Tree. As you listen to Sein, the Ginso Tree’s heart begins to beat again…Ginso Tree Restored Then all hell breaks loose! The element water has been restored to the forest of Nibel, the Ginso tree is its spring that has been long dead, and you are now stuck inside a Geyser thats about to BLOW! Make your way north with the use of the lanterns, the monsters, the projectiles shot at you, Wall Jump and anything else you can think of! Do so and do so quickly!

Note: Just so you know, you will die, and you will die A LOT in this part in the game 🙂 but don’t give up! Rage quits are natural and to be expected but you will eventually pass this level (good luck 🙂 ). See the video below so you can at least plan out your strategy accordingly. This will help decrease the amount of deaths you WILL rack up on this section of the game :).

Tip: There are will be a few Spirit Light pickups along the way as you make your escape from the Ginso Tree. View the video below to see all their locations. I collected all except for one that I didn’t see (to busy trying to escape with my life :)), right near the beginning behind the purple spider.

Kuro Tries to take you out

You would think that after barely escaping the Ginso tree with your life that you would be able to take a break. Nope, not while Kuro is around, Kuro Takes You Out and boy is she pissed! how dare you try to restore the Ginso Tree? You die now >:), Kuro then knocks Ori from the top of the Ginso Tree.

Opening the Spirit Gate

First Spirit Gate KeystoneNow that you have been saved by Gumo its time to get back to work, in order to proceed your are going to have to get past The Spirit Gate over to the east that is blocking your path. The gate requires 2 keystones to open it. The First Keystone can be found beneath the water (good thing it isn’t toxic anymore :D) towards the south east.
